Spending some time at a friend's house over a long weekend we found out about a great magazine for the do-it-yourselfer.
What we liked about it was how practical (and even ingenious) their ideas were about common household solutions. Make a twine dispenser out of half a liquid detergent bottle...build a storage shed...grow seedlings in eggshells. If we didn't know any better we'd think they got half these ideas from what W did in our own basement over the last 60 years!
Got an idea of your own? Family Handyman even pays $100 for any "handy hint" or "great goof" they publish!
Finally, like all our favorite publications, it was very explicit about the steps for a project and had lots of good photos. Its a great practical money-saver and consistent with the principles of Arts & Crafts, too!
